11-Year-Old Stabbed Her
Sleeping Mother Nine Times .....An 11-year-old girl was arrested after stabbing her
mother nine times while she slept. Toshia
Edmonson survived the brutal attack. However, she
is currently listed in serious condition at Central
Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. The 11-year-old
said she stabbed her mother because she was frustrated and angry. On Friday night, the 11-year-old girl was dropped off
at home after spending the day elsewhere. She was
reportedly angry and told her mother she did not
want to be there. According to the police report, the
girl said her mother was “threatening to give her
away” and pushed her onto the couch. As reported by Dallas News, the girl told police she calmed down and waited until her mother fell asleep.
She then went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and stabbed her nine times in the head, neck, and shoulders. Edmonson woke up during the attack and started screaming for help. She eventually managed to get the knife away from her daughter. However, she was
seriously injured in the attack. A young boy who
was also in the apartment heard the screaming and ran into the room. He was terrified to see his mother
and sister covered in blood. The boy ran to the apartment’s common area to look
for help. Several neighbors heard the commotion
and called 911. Edmonson was immediately transported to the
hospital for treatment. Police said the 11-year-old
girl admitted stabbing her mother because she was
“so so angry and frustrated.” Family friend Ben Ferrell said the girl’s behavior was
“totally out-of-character.” He said she was still
behaving strangely after the attack. As reported by WFAA News, she “was halfway back to herself… crying for her mother” before police left the scene.
Ferrell said the girl is intelligent and usually very
quiet. The 11-year-old was arrested and taken to Henry
Wade Juvenile Center following the attack.
