ELYRIA, Ohio — A fight over a card game may have led to a gruesome outcome, the Elyria Police Department reports.
Now, Ashley Plato, 24, is in jail, charged with felonious assault.
Elyria police say she bit off part of her boyfriend’s ear Saturday night after the two had an argument.
According to a police report, Shawn Lane, 38, fled to a friend’s house with his 7-year-old daughter after the couple’s spat over playing cards. A short time later, Plato showed up.
The friend says the couple went into a different room and were heard laughing and talking.
But it didn’t last long.
Soon after, Lane’s young daughter came out of the room and told the friend, “Daddy is bleeding.”
That’s when Lane was found with part of his ear missing. Plato allegedly admitted to the bite, then took off.
Lane was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Plato was booked into the Lorain County Jail for felonious assault. A judge on Wednesday set bond at $15,000 and ordered her to stay at least 500 feet away from Lane.Mike Tyson would be very proud
