A hunt is underway for a child snatcher who grabbed a British mum's toddler from their garden in Malaysia.
Sarah Joseph and toddler Freddie were eating dinner outside in Kuala Lumpur on Friday when a man burst in and grabbed
He sped off in a white Toyota Camry with a female accomplice inside.
Ms Joseph grabbed onto the car but the kidnapper got out and threatened her with a machete before trying to flee again.
The 39-year-old, who used to live in Liverpool, still clung to the vehicle and was dragged along the ground, breaking bones in her foot before she lost her grip.
A desperate search got underway over the next 24 hours before Freddie was found abandoned in a city park on Saturday.
Family friend Robert Waller said: “We got a phone call from Sarah who was very upset. She told us that her baby had been kidnapped.
"She said a man had gone into the house and just took him. When we arrived at Sarah’s house the police were already there.”
His wife Claire, 40, added: "We just can’t believe what’s happened over the last 24 hours – it just seems so surreal.
"Sarah hasn’t slept for two days, she’s been in so much shock. I can’t imagine what she went through.
“Thankfully, he was found. I think it was down to all the media coverage and coverage on social networks.
“I think those that took him panicked when they saw all the coverage and dumped him in the park.
"He was found by some passers-by who took him to a police station.
"We have no idea why the kidnapper did what he did, we didn’t get a ransom or anything.
"We’ve got some pretty good CCTV footage from Sarah’s neighbour’s house, so I’m confident they’ll get him.
“Thankfully, Freddie was fine. Obviously he’d missed his mum but he was back playing with his toys. Thank God he’s too young to remember.
“It has been such a massive shock for Sarah but they’re both OK and I think she just wants to try and put it behind her.”
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said police have classified the case as kidnapping as forensic investigators revealed they had found extracted a black clothes button, believed to be from the male suspect.
He is said to be between five and six feet tall with Chinese or Burmese features.
His female accomplice was described as Asian with long black hair.
