Kano explosions: How low phone battery saved my life
Emy Osodi an official of a leading telecommunication coy was a passenger in one of the bombed Lagos- bound luxurious bus. According to the survivor, he just commenced his two weeks leave and was looking forward to celebrating Easter with his family in Lagos. A colleague dropped him off at the park and they spent a few minutes talking about how they would spend the Easter in Lagos. He bought his ticket and secured a seat inside the bus after his colleague had driven off. While in the bus, he noticed that his phone was low, since it was going to be a long journey he alighted from from the bus to charge his phone in a shop as the driver was still awaiting passengers. Some minutes later, he heard a loud noise, explosions. People, luggage, buses and shops were burning. As people looked for escape routes, the dead and the dying were trampled upon. "I stood where I was, shivery and trying to recover from the shock and fear that I would have been in one of the buses that exploded" Osodi said. - Leadership
