Mum-of-four working
extra shifts on two
jobs to replace
Christmas presents
after heartless
thieves stole the lot........Leanne Garforth, 33, was left feeling "sick"
after robbers ransacked her home stealing
a Playstation 3, computer games and Lego A hardworking mum-of-four is battling to
save her family's Christmas after heartless
thieves swiped all her children's presents. Leanne Garforth, 33, had been working two
jobs to make this year extra special for her
kids. But their Christmas looks to have been
ruined after thieves broke in and took all the
presents she had left in cardboard boxes
including a Playstation 3, computer games
and Lego sets. A TV and items of jewellery were also
stolen. Now Leanne, a senior care worker, is having
to work extra shifts in her second job as a
barmaid to replace the gifts which were lost. She said: “I've worked two jobs all year
getting the money together so I can give my
kids a nice Christmas and just like that it's all
been taken away. “It makes me sick to think that people are
going around and stealing Christmas
presents from children. They'll know full well
the upset they're going to cause but they do
it anyway for the sake of a few quid – they
have no heart.” Thieves broke into her home in Oldham by
smashing the lock of her patio door between
9am last Monday and 3pm the following
day. Officers at GMP's Chadderton division are
now hunting the culprits and urged residents
to not to make life easy for festive thieves. At least one other family in the area has also
suffered a similar break-in. A spokesman said: “The parents are now
left with having to buy replacement presents
and the children are left heartbroken. “Please be mindful not to have wrapped
presents in view of windows. Although
presents look nice under the Christmas
Tree. This is a temptation that most burglars
won't pass up.”
