UK Nets $200bn Globally From Students’ Accommodation

…Nigerians Urged To Invest in UK Property Market
GIVEN the teeming population of foreign students who throng the United Kingdom for British education, annual returns on investment in students’ accommodation has been put at $200bn.This is according to studies done by Wrotham’s & Windsor, one of the leading students’ property developers in the UK.
Wrotham’s & Windsor have over 300 student properties spread across the UK, where it also provides a variety of business advisory for investors in the critical housing market to meet global demands.
According to a statement by Wrotham’s & Windsor, several prospective investors, including Nigerians have suffered in the hands of unauthorized developers after efforts to complete the property development failed, leading to loss of huge capital.
However, with the recent opening of a Nigerian office, the group expresses optimism that bringing its expertise to Nigeria will encourage well meaning Nigerians who have interest in the sector to come and invest in UK property subsector.
“The past ugly experiences of some Nigerians have spurred founding business partners, Richard Vedelago and Paul Little of Wrotham’s & Windsor ,the first Anglo-Nigerian property, to come on board to boost the sector’s rising revenue. They believe that wise investors now want safe investments that guarantee a good return, which is why the UK student accommodation market has taken off so well.
“In the last decade, the UK student accommodation market has grown from a little-known investment opportunity to the fastest growing and most profitable sector in the UK property market. Globally, the market is now worth a staggering $200bn”, the group said.
The Abuja based Vedelago group said that prices start from about 12 million Naira with a guaranteed returns of up to eight percent net invested in up to five years.
UK student accommodation market has taken the world by storm with investors from Hong Kong, Singapore, Qatar and Jordan also playing key role to take up the chance of outstanding guaranteed returns. They add 60 additional properties each month.
“It’s not just the high net worth, Nigerian investors need to take advantage of this great opportunity. Wrotham’s & Windsor has been a pioneer in this market, having identified a true need for a safe investment option and a lack of confidence in markets with diminishing returns since the 2007 credit crunch. The popularity of the venture since its introduction earlier this year has shown that Nigerian investors are keen to transfer their money from less stable markets into UK student accommodation with guaranteed returns of up to eight per cent net annually for up to five years”, the group said.
