Bungling robber who used SEE-THROUGH plastic bag as disguise jailed for two years

This hapless robber thinks he has a successful raid in the bag...
But his choice of disguise was clearly doomed from the start.
Bungling Jamie Neil, 41, used a see-through carrier bag when he raided a petrol station with an accomplice.
But his face showed up on CCTV images – and he was arrested two days later after being spotted by off-duty detective Lauren Holley.
Police branded the makeshift mask “ridiculous” after Neil was handed a two-year jail sentence.
His sidekick Gareth Tilley, 20, was also lacking in guile.
He did wear a scarf over his head when the pair stormed into the Co-op petrol station in St Austell, Cornwall, last September.
But his “gun” was actually his mobile phone – and when the keypad lit up, garage assistant Kim Clowes pressed an alarm rather than handing over any cash.
Neil wrestled with Kim and head-butted her before fleeing with several bottles of spirits.
The robbers were high on prescription drugs and alcohol at the time.
Neil, of Bethel, Cornwall, was jailed at Truro crown court last Friday after being convicted of robbery.
Judge John Neligan praised the courage of 20-year-old Kim.
Det Con Steve White after the case said: “Before arriving at the location, Tilley disguised his face using a scarf and Neil, being less resourceful, put a plastic bag on his head.”
Tilley, of no fixed address, was jailed for two years at an earlier hearing after he admitted robbery.
