The Federal Government has announced the
cancellation of all ongoing recruitment exercise by
its ministries, departments, and agencies, MDAs.
The government, however, said the military and the
police were exempted from the directive.
The cancellation comes five days after about 20
people died during a recruitment exercise by the
Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS.
The government also condoled with the family of
the victims of the NIS tragedy.
Already, the Nigeria Human Rights Commission,
NHRC, has commenced investigations into the NIS
recruitment tragedy where stampede in various
venues across the country led to the death of the
job seekers on Saturday.
There have been widespread calls by Nigerians for
the removal of both the Minister of Interior, Abba
Moro and The Comptroller-General of
Immigration, David Parradang, from office
